The inspiration for the line came from people in Weezy's old New Orleans neighborhood who couldn't afford to shop in high-end retail chains for brands like Ralph Lauren's Polo or Tommy Hilfiger.

"It feels awesome. I told my mom, and she was like, 'That's great!' She shops at Macy's," Lil Wayne told MTV News with a childlike laugh. "I'm pretty proud of myself, pat on the back."
